Indian Springs District Committee Meeting Minutes January 8, 2015
Meeting called to order at 7:00 Opened with Pledge of Allegiance Prior month minutes read and approved
Discussion on December strategy meeting
Questions regarding Committee meeting attendance and membership. Did all register members agree to serve and, if so, how to get involved. Possibility of paring down membership to only those actiptyve rather than "empty chairs".
Nomination raised for Joanna LaConto to serve as District Finance Chair. Motion voted and approved.
Indian Springs experienced a membership growth from 2013.
Friends of Scouting breakfast February 10 at WGU
Camp Cards begin in February. Pick up cards at kickoff or Roundtable
Recharter is at 90%
Commissioners working on bi-annual detailed assessments. Questions are being sent to unit Key 3.
Quartely Commissioner Meeting is January 22 at VSC.
Welcome of new Chair
Friends of Scouting is at 38%
April will begin a "new unit blitz"
Information is coming regarding Spring Troop recruiting drive.
Modifying of and discussion on training calendar.
District Committee training being held January 31.
OA Winter Gathering discussion. Currently 15 Troops registered, 195 registered attendees.
Awards Banquet coming February 21.
Motion to move Arbor Day activity from February 24 to April date. Voted and passed.
Scouting for Food dates discussed (March 14 distribution, March 21 drop-off). There is no centraldrop point. This is Unit decision (food pantry, Chartered Org., etc)
District Pinewood Derby set for March 28. No coordinator as yet.
Program meeting set for January 21.
Discussion on Spring Camporee.
2014 saw 21 new Eagle Scouts

Working on updating Committee member list and positions
More involvement coming with various communication outlets
